I decided based on the knowledge that all participants pushing blue would be the best situation, but knowing that others will not do this + that I could earn more if I pushed yellow when expecting others to push blue.

Not really, I didn't keep in mind what players in which position had earned or did consistently. So I based it more on the previous round and my own decisions.
